‘Alien Dalvik’ announced by Myriad, brings opportunity to run Android apps on Non-Android devices. Alien Dalvik is emulation software allowing the majority of Android applications to run unmodified by repackaging Android Package files.
What this gives to a mobile user:
- it is completely transparent.
- applications can be installed on device without disruption.
- a wider range of applications.
‘Alien Dalvik’ will be commercially released on MeeGo platform later this year with support for other platform which name is still unrevealed. So far no information about how they plan to charge for this, perhaps there will be more to hear about it at Mobile World Congress next week in Barcelona.
