Apple with its innovative interfaces on the iPhone and the iPad has taken the mobile user experience to another level. But now, Apple is getting serious competition in its very sweet spot.
TAT (The Astonishing Tribe) has been developing some pretty amazing Android homescreen replacements, widgets, live wallpapers and other interfaces which really give the iPhone a run for the money. TAT is a mobile design outfit best known for its augmented reality application known as Recognizr.
TAT is launching its new 3D homescreen on Android. I think TATs products (which will be available early next year) are only the beginning. It will be interesting to see how long Apples own developers will be able to keep up with the massive development world wide on the much more open Android platform. Will this force Apple to open its platform completely (loosing its special Apple flavor) or retain its more limited development platform, “the walled orchard of Apps”?
Read Sarah Perez full story and more videos at ReadWriteWeb. Watch out for the 3D-map application. Pretty cool, isn’t it?
I admit that 3D homescreen seems cool but I dont think that Apple will open this platform to compete with this. It is for the same reason that Macbooks are much more expensive than the other computers but people are still buying it. Key parameter is coming from the comparison like “Macbook and others”, “IPhone and other Android phones”…
So lets see what will gonna happen next year!
